Oji Zoo
The zoo is home to around 130 species of animal, and is a much-loved destination, just 5 minutes on foot from the nearest station. The endangered giant panda is a must-see attraction. Her name is Tantan. She's a young panda and a little shy. There are 4 feeding times per day, and these are a great time to see her adorably munching on bamboo. There are also feeding times for koalas, penguins and chimpanzees and training events for elephants, so have a look and enjoy the animal's characters.

The observation lobby is a great place to stop by on your Sannomiya stroll, and is open from early morning to late in the evening. The 100 m high view offers the perfect vantage point to get the classic Kobe sea and mountains landscape. On a clear day you can see as far as the Kii Peninsula in the south. The lobby also provides a restaurant and cafe, so is a great spot for lunch or a coffee break. Relax and enjoy the open vistas of sea and mountains.

Experience making Japanese candles
at Kitano Meister GardenKitano Meister Garden: Warosoku Kobe Matsumoto Shoten
This venue has 21 individual shops in total, so just looking around is great fun. If you have time, try the craft experience. We recommend making picture candles at Warosoku Kobe Matsumoto Shoten. You get to paint a picture of your own choice on a classic Kobe port tower-shaped candle, making a candle unique in the world. It's a great idea for souvenirs. They also offer a course in making the candles themselves, as well as pouches. The experience is available for 1 or more visitors.

Café Freundlieb
Freundlieb is a traditional Kobe bakery that has a continuous history back to the Taisho Era, and is popular for its juicy sandwiches on freshly baked bread, coffee and other drinks, cakes and baked confections. The building is the former Kobe Union Church, designed by world-famous architect W.M. Vories. The interior is just as much worth a look as the exterior. The first floor is a shop and the café is on the second floor. Spend a luxurious time here soaking up the amazing historic atmosphere and fresh flavors.

A participatory museum run by a long-standing brewing company.
Chojugura Brewery Museum
Itami is the birthplace of sake brewing. This sightseeing spot is a brewery museum run by Konishi Brewing Co., established here over 450 years ago. You can learn about over 200 brewing tools of 130 types used by the toji (master brewer) and kurabito (artisan brewer) in the Edo Era. The museum also offers the Fortune Photo Spot, very popular with visitors, where you can have a 3D art photograph taken on a background with motifs of the museum such as sake brewing tools. These are great fun to share on social networks like Facebook or Instagram.
