It is well known that the misfortune-warding Yakujin Myo-o is enshrined at the special head temple of the Koyasan Shingon Sect. It is famous for warding off misfortune by visiting the year before and after an unlucky age, and for the 13 visit custom, in which children are brought to the temple at the age of 13 to pray for the child to be free from misfortune and have good school performance. There is a grand festival of warding off evil in January each year. In spring, summer and autumn there are also warding festivals which bustle with tens of thousands of visitors. The temple also offers historically accurate new born blessing ceremonies, traffic safety prayers, prayer services and puppet memorial services.

REDHORSE OSAKA WHEEL
